MacPherson Family Story

In 1928, William R. MacPherson, Sr. left the dairy business and began to sell real estate in Wallingford. Four years later, in June of 1932, MacPherson – with his wife Anna, four sick children and “two pennies in his pocket” – opened his own office in Seattle’s University District.

Their sons Bill and Murdock assumed control of the company after returning from World War II. Combining their talents, the two brothers created a varied and successful real estate company which they ran together until Bill’s death in 1988.

Bill’s children Scott, Bruce, Shawn and Doug purchased the residential and property management divisions from Murdock in 1991.  They ran the company as a family for 28 years from the main office in Shoreline.  They expanded the business footprint from just sales and development and today the company offers Single Family Property Management, Condominium and Homeowner Association Management, as well as  Residential Sales.  Shawn has said that ‘working with your brother’s in the family business doesn’t feel like work at all.  It feels like home.’

In August of 2019, Bill’s great grandson Kyle Moore became President of the company becoming the fourth generation to run the business.  Along side Doug, who remains the  Vice President and In House Counsel, and Shawn who continues as the Operations Director. They bring decades of experience, and a commitment to the Owners and communities they serve.  When your name is on the sign you have to get it right.
